CRITICAL CHECK POINTS
Do not thaw under room temperature as the milk and rice combination is highly susceptible to spoilage.
In an emergency, thaw the kheer in the microwave and bring to chilled temperature. Do not increase the temperature of the phirni as it has to be served chilled.
Once thawed, it can be heated if it has to be served hot, specially during the winter months.
